“MobLog” – a real-world laboratory that improves the arrival of goods
As one of ten projects funded by the Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Energie und Betriebe, MobLog is helping to strengthen Berlin as a location for innovation.
The core team of MobLog, consisting of the Werner-von-Siemens Center, Gestalt Automation GmbH, T-Base Consulting GmbH and our associated partners Siemens AG, DB InfraGO AG and BEHALA, has already worked together on the joint vision in the sketch phase. We are now entering the detailed planning phase in the funded concept phase in order to convince with our concept and to be awarded the contract for the implementation phase. With MobLog, we want to make a contribution to sustainable urban development in Siemensstadt and beyond.
Siemensstadt is the ideal testing ground for scalable and transferable solutions. With the development of Siemensstadt Square, we are witnessing the transformation of an urban district in which mobility is also being rethought. With MobLog, we are facing up to the challenges of logistics supply. Our goal is to minimize the motorized movement of goods in the district while integrating advanced technologies in the areas of automation, digitalization and robotics. To this end, we are testing existing technologies and approaches such as microhubs and white label transportation in a real-life environment. Local SMEs and commercial enterprises can participate in the project. The aim is to create a blueprint that can also be transferred to other districts.
We would like to thank the Senate Department for its support and are looking forward to the evaluation of our concepts in November. We expect a funding decision at the beginning of 2025, which will pave the way for the realization of MobLog. Special thanks also go to the project management organization VDI/VDE IT for the informative kick-off event, which provided an excellent platform for exchange between the 10 real-world lab projects.
VDI/VDE-IT and PTKA are the project sponsors for the pilot project “Programm zur Förderung von wirtschaftsorientierten Reallaboren” of the Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Energie und Betriebe, Berlin.
