WvSC is an official partner of the Deep Tech Award 2026

With the Deep Tech Award, the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises is honouring outstanding technological innovations with high research and future potential that were developed in Berlin and brought to market maturity for the 11th time. With prize money of €10,000 in each of the five categories, the Deep Tech Champions are honoured annually. In this way, the capital city is strengthening its visibility in important future fields and at the same time promoting more innovation and entrepreneurial spirit in the relevant tech areas:

• Advanced Manufacturing – Innovative production and material technologies that rethink manufacturing efficiency, precision and sustainability.
• Bio & Health Tech – Breakthroughs in biotechnology, medical technology and digital health technologies with real social benefits.
• Artificial Intelligence – Solutions that use AI methods to solve complex problems and implement new applications ready for the market (minimum TRL required in some cases).
• Quantum technologies, photonics & microelectronics – Technologies based on light, quantum or microelectronics principles that open up new dimensions for computing, sensor technology and communication.
• Web3 & Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) – Decentralised systems such as blockchain, smart contracts or tokenised ecosystems with real added value for security, transparency or new business models.

At the same time, the award aims to strengthen cooperation between science, industry and politics, which is also a core task of the Werner von Siemens Centre for Industry and Science e. V. We at WvSC are therefore all the more delighted to be actively involved this year.

The award not only comes with a total of up to €50,000 in prize money, but also offers nominees and winners visible recognition, valuable contacts and access to Berlin’s broad deep tech community.

The application phase for 2026 has already started and will run until 13 February 2026.

The award ceremony will take place during Deep Tech Momentum in May 2026 in Berlin and honours technological excellence in the core areas of high-tech development.
